MOJO MONDAY 189

With all of the 'poopy' weather we've been having lately (windstorms, rain, cool temperatures), I'm beginning to think that we might not ever see Spring this year.
So, I decided for Mojo Monday this week (thanks Julee for another great sketch),
to haul out some "in-your-face" colours for my card project, to at least
brighten up my spirits, if only for a couple of hours.  The DP is SU's Kaleidoscope
and the solids are Peach Parfait, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.

Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace is such an inspiration to so many, not the least of which is me.  The flower on my card was made using a technique that can
be found here on Becca's blog.

My next card is for a friend who just found out that she has breast cancer.
I am hoping that some mail might cheer her up a bit.

MOJO MONDAY 188

Just got this yummy DP from CTMH called 'miracle' and rather than store it away
with all of my other hundreds of packs of DP (and never use), I decided to
break it open and use it.  CTMH includes matching cardstock in their paper packets with the D/P and that makes it so easy to match it all up.

And since it's Mother's Day soon, I thought I may as well make a card for
my MIL using the DP and the Mojo Monday 188 sketch.  Thanks to Sarah for another
 great Mojo sketch.

MOJO MONDAY 187

This week's sketch is a classic ... centred, balanced, clean ... just the way I like it.  Thanks Maria for a good one!  You can find this week's sketch here.

This is a new LOTV stamp that I used in yesterday's post but this one was
coloured with a lighter pink shade.

MOJO MONDAY 185

It's Monday again and I don't mind them as much since I started to participate in Mojo Monday's.  You can find the link here and this week, since it's the beginning of the month, the challenge is actually a contest with a possible total of 7 winners.  Thanks once again, Julie for another great layout.

My card is in fact lavender lace in colour but it photographed as 2 different shades.  Don't know why.

My inspiration for the colours this week came from this Prima DP called Fairy Flora.  You can't see much of it in this card but if you get a chance, check it out ... the colours and patterns are absolutely beautiful.

The cupcake and sentiment are Lizzie Anne Designs.  The flower is made from the ribbon that was used across the card and for the bow.  The cupcake was coloured with Copics.

MOJO MONDAY 183

Since it is Spring, I chose some bright colours for my Mojo Monday card this week.  Little did I know that we would get 6" of snow, mixed with freezing rain, today!  I think Mother Nature forgot that it's supposed to be Spring everywhere, including Ontario.  Oh well, a couple of days of rain and the grass will be here again and hopefully, for good this time.

Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

This cool flower was made with felt and you can find the tutorial here.  Tosh has some really amazing ideas and her tutorials are well written and easy to understand.

PINK ISN"T JUST A COLOR

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am PINK crazy!

For my 5th birthday, my Granny made me a new dress from a piece of pink border eyelet.  She had no sewing machine and made it all by hand...even the pattern.  Anyway, she bought me pink socks, new white shoes and a pink hat so that I could wear my new outfit to church (it was not proper back then for a lady or a girl to go to church without a hat).

Ever since then, I have loved the color PINK.  My wardrobe, to this day, contains many things in PINK.  My garden grows many different PINK flowers.  My craft studio is PINK, black and white.  Even my puppy Lily, has a PINK wardrobe, right down to her pink ball cap and pink sunglasses!

So, when I saw this stamp, it had my name written all over it!  This card was created for this week's Mojo Monday 182.  Once again, it went together really quickly ... I am loving Mojo Monday's.

The stamp is made by C.C. Designs and I have used DP from The Glitter Stack by DCWV.

MOJO MONDAY 181

Another great sketch for the Mojo Monday challenge.  For anyone experiencing some lack of inspiration, this is an easy way to maybe find some again. Here is the link for Mojo Monday.

Once again, this card came together fairly quickly and I am finding that having the
sketch already done for you, makes a huge difference.

And here is my card:

MOJO MONDAY

It's not often that I can start a project after I'm finished work and complete it the same day but I guess I did have some Mojo going on this afternoon.  I decided to try my hand at MOJO MONDAY 180 this week.  Here is the sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

This card came together very quickly and I think I might have discovered the secret.  While I was working away, I had background music playing ... Alabama, Josh Groban, Corey Hart, Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood/Randy Travis, Garth Brooks and Bette Medler.  Not sure if they inspired me or not, but they certainly made for a relaxing afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by.
