ANOTHER SURPRISE!

... and another beautiful PINK card!  Carolyn came by this afternoon with this beautiful card for me as well as this pretty PINK Garden Globe and stand.  

One of her famous crocheted flowers adorned the front of the card and one inside, as well.

The garden globe is a translucent pearlized pink glass and sits inside the

heavy wrought iron stand.  I can't wait to be able to put it out in my garden.

You sure made my day extra special Carolyn ... thank you so much, sweet friend.

OH WHAT A NIGHT!

Michael Flatley's LORD OF THE DANCE is a highly acclaimed show of Celtic dance and music.  My friend Cathy and I went to see a live performance of it in Hamilton last night and I must say that I was rather disappointed.  I had seen this performance a couple of years ago and was blown away by it but last night ... not so much.  The men are supposed to look like men - not BOYS - and should NOT look like they are still in high school and probably not even shaving yet.  And the girls who perform Celtic dance should not be BLEACH BLONDES WITH HAIR EXTENSIONS!  All in all, the director needs to take a better look at this dance troupe and make some much needed changes.  They even seemed to have put a modern twist to this performance and I for one, do not think that classic Celtic music and dance should be tampered with at all.  Sure wish I could see a European troupe perform this classic show, the way it was meant to be done.  BTW, if you like Celtic music and dance, be sure to check this one out on DVD ... but make sure it's the original, starring Michael Flatley.

Having written that review, the night was not a total bust because I got to spend the evening with a good friend and that, as they say, is PRICELESS.

The door bell just rang and what a surprise ... it was my dear friend Cathy, stopping by
to deliver a beautiful birthday card and a special gift of the SU BLISS set.  I had a chance to get this set but decided I didn't want it.  Since then, I have seen dozens of projects using it and wished I HAD ordered it.  So, typical of Cathy, she surprised me with
it and now we have a reason to get together, to create with it (not that we ever need a reason to get together!).

This beautiful card is even more special because she made it in PINK, just for me.  Isn't that glittery butterfly just gorgeous?!  So, thanks so very much, dear Cathy.

MOJO MONDAY 183

Since it is Spring, I chose some bright colours for my Mojo Monday card this week.  Little did I know that we would get 6" of snow, mixed with freezing rain, today!  I think Mother Nature forgot that it's supposed to be Spring everywhere, including Ontario.  Oh well, a couple of days of rain and the grass will be here again and hopefully, for good this time.

BLACK AND WHITE

Fiskateers is running a Winter Stamp Out (WSO) challenge right now .... actually, 20 challenges, to be more specific.  The link can be found here.  This card is for

Challenge #6 - Black & White.

The scalloped frame was made using my Grand Calibur dies and the detailed frame was made from the Spellbinders Pendant "In Spades".  Stampin' Up's 2-step owl and 2-3/8" circle punches were used to make the flower (tutorial here).  Homemade glitter spray was sprayed on the flower to add a bit of sparkle.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Happy Spring everyone!  And a sure sign of Spring is tulips.  While our tulips have not popped through yet, it's only a matter of time.  

Beate posted a photo for inspiration of some beautiful tulips HERE, so I decided to break out one of my favourite tulip stamps. 

 They are coloured with Copics R29, R27, R24, Y38, Y35, Y32, YG97, YG95 and YG93.   I cut the entire image out and popped it up on a background that has been lightly sponged with SU pear pizzazz.

MINI CARDS

Our little group of girls gets together for our Workshop Wednesday's, twice a month.  Since Kristy, one of our crafting pals, returned to work after her maternity leave, she is unable to join us on Wednesday's.  So, we decided to have a Friday craft night, so we could all be together again.  We had a lasagna and garlic bread dinner and then Carolyn surprised me with a birthday cake, which we enjoyed for dessert (it was so yummy!).

We each designed a couple of little 3x3 cards cards and then prepared little kits for each girl to make her own.  We each ended up with 6 mini cards 

and a box to put them in.

My design was the little box.

Going through life with good friends is truly a blessing and I am very blessed to call these girls, my friend's.
