TRUE BEAUTY

Hand Stamped Sentiments is hosting a challenge here, to create
any project with Mom in mind.

My Mother-In-Law is one of the sweetest and most gentle women I know
and epitomizes the word "LADY" to the fullest extent.  She has had a difficult life, even spent time in a concentration camp near the end of the war.  But throughout all of her trials and difficult times, she remains the sweet, honest and gentle soul that
I love with all my heart.

Since it's Mother's Day soon, I wanted to pay homage to her by posting
this layout that I did of her.

She is pictured here with her little ShihTzu, Candy.

Mom, you are truly beautiful, inside and out.

Thanks for stopping by.

MOJO MONDAY 188

Just got this yummy DP from CTMH called 'miracle' and rather than store it away
with all of my other hundreds of packs of DP (and never use), I decided to
break it open and use it.  CTMH includes matching cardstock in their paper packets with the D/P and that makes it so easy to match it all up.

And since it's Mother's Day soon, I thought I may as well make a card for
my MIL using the DP and the Mojo Monday 188 sketch.  Thanks to Sarah for another
 great Mojo sketch.

BPBS

Along with loving anything PINK, I love ribbon too.  And when BECCA posted her Peg Bow, I knew I had to try to make one too.  I have a Bow Easy and it does make
bow-making quite quick and easy, but I seem to fumble a lot with it, so I decided to try

It's like having an extra set of hands!  I have called it the Becca Peg Bow System (hence, BPBS).  Becca of AMAZING PAPER GRACE is an endless source of inspiration and ideas and if you are not a follower, you should be ... you don't know what you are missing!

A BIG thank you, Becca for this amazing idea ... and for all of the ideas that
you so willingly share with your blog readers.  I'm sure I speak for many ...
we really appreciate you and your amazing creations and ideas.

Thanks for stopping by.

MOJO MONDAY 187

This week's sketch is a classic ... centred, balanced, clean ... just the way I like it.  Thanks Maria for a good one!  You can find this week's sketch here.

This is a new LOTV stamp that I used in yesterday's post but this one was
coloured with a lighter pink shade.

Thanks for stopping by.

PINK BIRTHDAY CUTIE

It's been one of those "stay inside and keep warm" kind of Sunday's.  We've had snow flurries mixed with hail and freezing rain ... so much for Spring!  Anyway, I've had this LOTV stamp for a little while now and decided to ink her up and turn her into a pink birthday cutie for a special May birthday.

The stamp is called "Dandelion Clock" and is coloured with Copics.  To try to make the 'dandelion parts' stand out, I used some M/S carrara marble tinsel glitter (if you click on the card to enlarge it, you can see the tinsel glitter better).  I love these LOTV images, especially the big shoes.

I added a little bead that can be removed and attached to a key chain or whatever.  The girl that this card is made for is PINK CRAZY, just like me, so I know she will appreciate all of the pink that I used.

IT'S A SURPRISE!

Last night was quite the night.  My dear friend turns 50 on Wednesday so we decided to have a surprise party for her last night.  There were 17 of us waiting for her at a local restaurant, to hopefully make her 50th Birthday a memorable one.

Instead of everyone bringing their own gifts, we decided to all chip in and give Cathy something she really wanted ... a SPELLBINDERS GRAND CALIBUR MACHINE and the
2 SETS OF OVAL DIES.  And boy, was she surprised!

This is the card that I made from all of us to her.

I also made little table favours for each girl.

Christine ordered a custom cake to duplicate a card workshop that Cathy
had done, using a Spellbinders Sunflower die set.  It turned out perfect!

Life truly is about the moments and the memories that those moments leave us with.  Here's hoping that these will become some great memories for Cathy.

WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY

We had our WSW today and it was Cathy's turn to host.  Our first card was made using primarily SU materials and punches and used up some of Cathy's bits of DP from her scrap bin.  It was an excellent way to use these leftover pieces.

Then Cathy gave us cardstock and some stamps to create something on our own.  It was very interesting to see what the 3 of us came up with and how different they each were.

I love how Cathy made her flower 3-D (it's hard to see by the photo but she stamped a couple of the flower images and then popped each up to make the 3-D).  We each used seed beads for the flower centres.  Thanks Cathy for another fun workshop.

Thanks for stopping by.
