THIS IS THE THANKS I GET ...

... for being Mrs. Nicey-Nice!  A while back, I posted a photo of some rodent tracks in the snow that lead underneath our back deck.  Now, I am NOT a rodent lover but I decided to do the nice thing and not disturb the little creatures.  That was until today!

Below are photos of what my window screen now looks like.  He/she has chewed the screen to where it now resembles swiss cheese!

You can see the little creature's tail and body in the upper right corner of this photo, as he is climbing through the screen.

And here he has made a nice little bed of grass in the window well and also has left the carcass of his lunch here too (lower right corner).

Lily came outside with me to get some 'up close and personal' shots.  She was so excited when the critter moved that she started to shake and whine ... I think she thought it was going to be dessert for her!

NOW, he's got to go!  I will catch him and relocate him to another spot where if he is lucky, he will find someone who won't mind him chewing his way into their house.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bonnie, I am crackin up at Lilly's focus and determination in that photo. Typical Schnauzer, huh? Lol! I don't know what that little critter is, but I'm with you...time to relocate! Eeek!! Good luck with the "catch and release"! ;)

Ewww! He looks like a pretty big rodent. Sure did some major damage to your screens. Can you send him over to a neighbors. lol Maybe have your hubby drop him off somewhere. Yuck...good luck getting rid of him/her. My guess is it's a she & soon you'll have some "grandbaby rodents". lol

Oh Bonnie, those little critters sure can stir up excitement! We've had them inside while remodeling as well as a few lizards, yikes! People get up and flee quickly, lol. Me too :)

Go Lily!

I think it is adorable! What a cutie! I'm glad you are a kind soul and didn't harm the little cutie. I couldn't make it out very well in the pic either, but I'm with comment number 1. Are you sure that "carcass" in the corner isn't babies? I thought most rodents ate grasses and grains. I didn't think they were carnivores for the most part. Although "moles" do eat bugs and worms so I guess that would make sense. Anyway, a cutie none the less! Lily was certainly feeling her instincts wasn't she? What a sweetie. Best, Curt
